Clean Power Capital Announces New Senior Advisors

Strategic Financial Advisory group expands its team to include five highly experienced professionals across an array of clean technology corporate and renewable project disciplines.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (BUSINESS WIRE) – February 18, 2015 – CLEAN POWER CAPITAL (“CPC”), a financial advisory firm dedicated to Clean Technology corporate and Renewable project financing, is pleased to announce the addition of five proven clean technology corporate and renewable project finance advisors; Mrs. Kristina Peterson, Mrs. Wendy Merrill, Mr. Stephen Simpkin, Mr. Akinobu Sasaki, and Mr. EJ Dieterle. Mrs. Kristina Peterson Senior Advisor for Project Financing. Kristina brings 24 years worth of experience in the conventional and solar power generation industry as a banker and senior director. She has held senior management and finance positions since 2007 with solar investment and manufacturing companies and has financed over $5bln worth of structured and project finance deals in power generation, telecom and equipment sales transactions around the world. “Ms. Peterson’s demonstrated international business experience and track record of success in finance and investment make her a highly valued and very much welcomed advisor of CPC,” added Alexander von Welczeck.

Mrs. Wendy Merrill Senior Advisor for Business Development
Wendy has been passionate about identifying and funding viable innovative energy technologies for more than a decade, as seen in her work with innovative startup technologies in solar, wind, waste-to-energy, and other types of clean power systems to bring viable ideas to commercial production. She has a deep experience in agriculture and efficient food production, as demonstrated in her work for the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research, a Division of the World Bank and for her work in helping to establish and fund the Cornell Food and Nutrition Policy Program. “Ms. Merrill’s connections in finance will prove to be very valuable for our clients as the same concepts and knowledge she posses for food production are easily applied to energy and energy-related systems,” says CPC’s Managing Partner, Mark D. Mr. Stephen Simpkin Senior Advisor for Pension Funds
Steve has over 15 years’ experience raising capital in the institutional pension fund markets. He specializes in the Public Fund and Taft Hartley market and also has deep relationships with the consultants who advise to these capital allocators. He has raised over $3 billion across multiple asset classes including both traditional and alternative asset classes. Mr. Simpkin recently served as Managing Director at Private Advisors where he helped close a $250 million Private Equity Fund of Fund investing in the Small Company Buyout market. Mr. Simpkin’s experience includes holding Senior Sales positions with MFS, Lazard Asset Management, and Attalus Capital where he was responsible for fund raising and client service. “Through his years of working closely with pension plans across the United States, Mr. Simpkin has a keen understanding of the decision making process and knows how to navigate through the different tenants of the capital allocating process,” attests Alexander von Welczeck “CPC will certainly further itself in the pension fund marketplace through Mr. Simpkin’s extensive international network of contacts of decision makers in allocating capital across multiple asset classes.”
Mr. Akinobu Sasaki Senior Advisor for Japan. Akinobu has deep management experience with Mitsui & Co. Ltd, leading venture capital activities on behalf of the company in Silicon Valley with a core focus on semiconductors and communications. Mr. Sasaki later served as General Manager of Electronics and Information Technology Business in Taiwan and was then named General Manager of Electronics Business Development Division of Mitsui headquartered in Tokyo. “Mr. Sasaki brings decades of manufacturing, venture capital and strategic advisory expertise to Clean Power Capital, all of which CPC highly values in order to effectively engage in the Japanese market and beyond,” attests Mark D.Hill.

Mr. EJ Dieterle Senior Advisor for International Management
EJ will bring decades of global experience to CPC. A native of Germany, Mr. Dieterle has held high level management positions in the UK, Japan, South Korea and the United States and is the CEO, President & Co-Founder of YES Partners (Inc.), a global Executive?Search Firm. He is a member of NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors), WAC (World Affairs Council), Techwadi, KASE & Korea IT Network, as well as Rotary International, where he served a Club President between 2009 and 2010.
